It is commonly known that “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” has been called a “trilogy” despite the fact that it consists of more than three volumes. In case you are unfamiliar with the fact, here is a quote from Wikipedia:
»The novels are described as “a trilogy in five parts”, having been described as a trilogy on the release of the third book (…) the blurb on the fifth book humorously describes the book as “the book that gives a whole new meaning to the word ‘trilogy’.« -> source
It has always been my urge to give the word ‘trilogy’ it’s meaning back. So here it is, finally: The Hitchhiker’s Trilogy (Part 1, Part 2 & Part 3).
Based on the gilt edged, faux leather, hardcover edition “The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide”, published in 2005 by Gramercy Books, an imprint of Random House Value Publishing (ISBN: 0-517-22695-2), expertly rebound into three red and black hardcover volumes, each with golden lettering on the spine and fitted with a red sorting belt, snugly inserted into a custom made black cardboard slip-case with a bright red inside.
